The following features have been mentioned by ArenaNet staff and are expected to be part of future content updates.

 

Announced changes

 

These changes are intended to be released in the second half of 2013.

 

Professions and balance

    There will be new unlockable skills and traits.

 

Ascended gear, precursors, and legendaries

    Ascended armor and weapons will become available from rare drops and from crafting.
    Some precursors will be obtainable through crafting using a complex assortment of items.
    Legendaries will be scaled up to the level of ascended weaponry. You will also be able to change the stats on a legendary to any available stat combination while out of combat.

 

Rewards and loot

    Account-based magic find will replace item-based magic find.

 

Crafting

    The maximum level of crafting disciplines will be increased to 500.
    New accountbound tier 7 crafting materials.
        Limited amount can be made per day per character, created by combining lower tier materials.
        Obtained by completing content within a specific category once per day per unique location; includes jumping puzzles, mini-dungeons, WvW, guild missions, temples, and more.
    Items of fine and masterwork rarity will have a chance to salvage into magic find consumables.

 

sPvP

    New map types.
    It will be possible to gain legendary weapon skins in sPvP.
    Additional rewards and growth will be added to the major competitive sPvP tournaments.
    Hosting a Year One sPvP Championship at PAX.

 

Other

    A new in-game Looking for Group tool.

These changes have been mentioned by ArenaNet, but lack specific details and/or a release date.

   

New weapon types and expansion of current weapon types to more professions.
   

New legendary equipment, possibly a trinket.
   

Activities: includes bar brawl, polymock and a shooting range.
   

Foes: More variations to creatures.
   

Housing: Guild halls and player housing in their home instance.
   

Social: Improvements to group finding tool.
   

Structured PvP:
        New maps.
        Objectives other than conquest.
   

World versus World:
        Improving the commander functionality: Being discussed, but not being worked on yet.
        They are looking into a way to provide matchup information ahead of time. It is complicated however.
        Orbs are not coming back as they were they are working on a replacment for the best part of orbs.
   

Dueling: The ability to duel other players in world.
   

Super Adventure Box
        Each skill slot will have two upgrades
        Bombs and slingshot work as bundles because their future upgrades will cost more, allowing you to choose cheaper ammo.
        There are plans to update World 1, introduce World 2, and add a hard mode.
        Super Adventure Box will be added to the leaderboards.
        New super skins will include dagger, torch, rifle, and pistol.
        There are a total of 30 skills planned throughout the four worlds.
        Super Adventure Boxes might be added to the other cities (See Moto for notes).
